“Annual Paper Box Awards” Finlayson Paperboard Design Contributes
Recently, the renowned skincare brand LUMENE's 2024 Christmas Beauty Calendar Gift Set was honored with the coveted “Carton of the Year” award at the European Carton Excellence Awards ceremony held in Istanbul, Turkey. Designed by the packaging design team at Metsä Board and manufactured by VG Kvadra Pak, a subsidiary of Van Genechten Packaging, the calendar gift set features MetsäBoard Prime FBB Bright 380 g/m² for its outer packaging and MetsäBoard Pro FBB Bright 220 g/m² for its inner packaging.

Metsä Board's paperboard products were also featured in multiple award-winning entries at this year's European Carton of Excellence Awards. For instance, Alpaya Dermaceuticals' Biobalance Mineral Sunscreen packaging won the Platinum Award in the Beauty & Cosmetics category. This packaging utilized MetsäBoard Pro FBB Bright 245 g/㎡ and was produced by Omaks Packaging.
In the same category, Germaine de Capuccini's promotional packaging, made with MetsäBoard Prime FBB Bright 305 g/㎡ and produced by Alzamora Group, won the Gold Award.
Additionally, Ringana CAPS' packaging received the Platinum Award in the Medicine and Health category. This packaging was printed and produced by Cardbox Packaging Wolfsberg GmbH using MetsäBoard Natural FBB 325 g/m² from Metsä Paper.
The European Carton Excellence Awards (ECEA), jointly organized annually by Pro Carton and the European Carton Manufacturers Association (ECMA), have become a benchmark for excellence and innovation in the packaging industry.
