Gift box production process

1. Design and proofing stage
Demand communication
Confirm with customers the purpose of the gift box (such as holiday gift boxes, brand customization), size, structure (cover, book-shaped box, etc.), design style and budget.
Design drawings
Designers draw 3D structural drawings based on the needs to determine the appearance pattern, LOGO position, and decorative elements (such as hot stamping, UV process).
Sample production
Use laser cutting or manual proofing to make 1-2 samples to verify the feasibility of the design, and confirm with customers after adjusting the details.
2. Material procurement and pretreatment
Material selection
Facial paper: coated paper, art paper (mainly 128-157g, too thick and easy to bubble).
Inner lining: gray board (250-1000g, choose thickness according to load-bearing), EVA sponge or silk cloth.
Auxiliary materials: magnets, ribbons, hot stamping foil, etc.
Pretreatment
Cut the gray board to the required size, and control the humidity at 16-18% to prevent deformation; the facial paper is coated or UV-treated to increase the texture.
3. Printing and surface treatment
Printing process
Offset printing: large-area pattern printing, pay attention to color calibration.
Silk screen printing: small batch or special effects (such as gradient).
Digital printing: personalized customization, support variable data.
Surface treatment
Laminating: glossy film/matt film protects ink and improves brightness.
Hot stamping/embossing: local LOGO or pattern enhances three-dimensional effect.
Local UV: highlight the glossiness of specific areas.
4. Die cutting and forming
Mold making
Make steel molds according to the design drawings to ensure die cutting accuracy (error needs to be <0.5mm).
Die cutting and folding
Use a beer machine to cut the face paper and lining, clean the waste edges and fold the box.
Key process:
The magnet hole position needs to be aligned with the lining, and the hole depth matches the magnet thickness.
Use a scraper to compact when pasting the box to avoid glue overflow or bubbling.
5. Assembly and quality inspection
Manual assembly
According to the process of "gluing → positioning → edge wrapping → scraping finished product", 2-3 people in a group will work together to improve efficiency.
Quality inspection standards
Appearance: no scratches, glue stains, no falling off of hot stamping.
Structure: smooth opening and closing, and the magnet adsorption force meets the standard.
Printing: clear text, color consistent with the sample.
VI. Packaging and delivery
Outer box reinforcement
Use B=C corrugated paper box, lined with pearl cotton or bubble film for shockproof.
Logistics preparation
Label, attach quality inspection report, and ship by land or air according to customer requirements.
